Rogers City, Michigan

Rogers City is a small city located on the shores of Lake Huron between Alpena and Cheboygan. The county seat of Presque Isle County, Rogers City is a beacon of commerce and recreation. We first visited the city while camping at Onaway State Park, searching for a cup of joe. We found a few shops that piqued our interest: a great thrift store, a grocery store, a famous butcher, a historic theatre, and a beautiful marina. Rogers City has just about everything you might need if you’re away from home and is close to Black Lake, Ocqueoc Falls, and a number of different lighthouses and state parks. Rogers City is also home to the largest open-pit limestone quarry in the world. While in Rogers City on our second visit, we stopped by The Lighthouse restaurant and got some good food and some of the best service I have received while traveling around our state. If you’re visiting northeast Michigan, Rogers City should definitely be on your list!
