Brockway Mountain Lower Lookout

On the far side of Brockway Mountain Drive, there’s a lookout that offers stunning views of Copper Harbor, Lake Superior, and Lake Fanny Hooe. There is just a small platform for standing and a few parking spots, but it’s well worth a stop if you’re on your way up to the main viewing area on top of the mountain or are on your way back down.

In the distance, you can see Hunter’s Point Park jutting out into Lake Superior, the Copper Harbor Lighthouse marking the entrance to the harbor, the Isle Royale Queen IV (so long as it isn’t journeying to Isle Royal), and the many buildings that make Copper Harbor the charming little town that it is.

On days when there’s an event in town, this is a great vantage point to get a good look at everything that’s going on below. It’s neat to see bikers riding up and down the streets, people on 4x4s riding into town, and tourists getting out of their cars to stretch their legs after driving for hours to get there. The view is definitely worth it!
