Alexander Henry Park

Alexander Henry Park is a great place to stop and have a bite to eat, go to the bathroom, and look out over the strait you are about to conquer. The park offers scenic views of the Straits of Mackinac, the Mighty Mackinac Bridge, Mackinac Island, and the Upper Peninsula in the distance. One of the unique things about Alexander Henry Park is that you can actually go underneath the Mackinac Bridge, which is a wicked view. When you go over the bridge it all happens pretty quickly, and it is easy to forget exactly how far it is you’re traveling. From Alexander Henry Park, you can really see the whole 5 miles that it is from the Lower Peninsula to the Upper Peninsula. The park also has a beach that has rocks, although I haven’t ever found anything too interesting there. Whether you’re stopping just for a break, to have lunch, or to view the bridge, Alexander Henry Park is a great pit stop before going over the bridge.
